Anna Sui Biography

Anna Sui was born in Detroit, Michigan, in 1952. After graduating a high school, she moved to New York and learned about designing at Parson's School of Design. She exhibited her first original designing cloths in 1980. The ad of her brand was adopted at New York Times and attracted all attention. She launched her first runway show in 1991, and then she opened a retail location in New York City's Soho District. Also, she opened her first boutique at Tokyo in May 1997. Her unique and originality design affect on fashion industry of all around the world. Among the funs of her designs are Naomi Cambell and Nicole Kidman leading fashion styles. Her expressive designs are exercised not as fashion designs but as cosmetics designs. She established a original make-up Street Cosmetics unlike conventional make-ups. Her brand is widespread globally around the world, the U.S., Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Her clothing, fragrance, cosmetic, and accessories lines retail in her stores and independent boutiques in over 50 countries.
